Odyssey of the Mind

Here is a snapshot of our team’s performance at the regional competition! I play the main character/antagonist Dynamo, who is set on getting rid of art and dance! I’m in a teal blazer with a big hat :)

Odyssey of the Mind combines science and art. In our problem, we had to create a wooden truss that could hold over 1,000 lbs, along with a theatrical performance, costumes, backdrops, and even a moving robot! You can see in the picture on the left the boys are weighing the truss, and the rest of the team is performing in front of the audience and judges. We are being judged on performance of the truss and skit, as well as our props and costumes. After our performance we also have a “Spontaneous Problem.” There the judges give us an on site problem to solve, it can be verbal, hands-on, or a combination of the two. Later in May, our team would get 2nd place worldwide for our Spontaneous Problem solutions!
