Black Lives Matter
This year, I went to my first Black Lives Matter protest. I was able to see the Ballantyne community speaking up about police brutality amongst African Americans, and it was an amazing privilege for me to be able to be a part of it. My mom came too! I am so grateful that my mom was supportive of us protesting and that I was even able to protest as not everyone is able to. This experience really opened my eyes about what activism looks like, and I expect to continue to support BLM with petitions, donations, and showing up when I can.
Tired after a long three hour walk.
Here is a non-profit I donated to that specifically intersects with the transgender and LGBT community: https://www.blackvisionsmn.org/
Long line of Ballantyne protestors. Seeing the community come together in times of justice was so empowering.
