Girls Engineering Change Club

Girls Engineering Change or GEC is nationwide organization with chapters across the United States. It focuses on closing the 7:1 male to female gender gap in STEM fields. Our chapter at Ardrey Kell High School focuses on local elementary schools, with volunteering opportunities for our highschool club members, we teach girls’ about STEM.

Here is our booth at our school’s 2019 spring festival! Many children attended and we had the young ones play with legos and talked about STEM to older girls!

An outreach event at Endhaven Elementary!

Our activity was “Binary Bracelets” where the kids would convert their names/initials into binary code. Using two different colors they would make bracelets representing their initials.

Our club advisor, Ms. Bunn, showed me how to use Adobe Illustrator and vectors to create the design!
