Duke Tip 2018

Before taking this class, I was only familiar with beginner Java from my AP Computer Science Principles class. Computer Skills for Today's Scientists and Engineers showed me coding with application for the first time. We learned coding with C++, which is especially useful for controlling hardware. At the end of the course we took a field trip to NC State University to see their self-driving car which they coded with C++! It was really cool seeing what we learned being used for something super advanced and esteemed.

Here is a link to my final project: it was a hangman game! (If you want to play download Xcode, which is what we used to run C++)

Here is a class picture of us next to the engineered car! We each got a ride in it too!
