Duke Tip 2017

Macroeconomics was a whirlwind! It was notorious for being the most difficult course on Duke East campus, filled with Dr. Kane’s long lectures and hard to pass quizzes and tests. However, it was so much fun! In the class there were only three girls including me, and the three of us were the youngest in the class. I was so intimidated! But after a couple of days I really bonded with all my classmates, and at the end of the term final project we made a parody rap video. Check it out below! On the last day of class, we took a field trip to Duke West campus, to the famous Perkins and Bostock libraries. With only a few hours to spare, we cranked out this silly video for laughs. Our class really enjoyed it!

In fact, when I took AP Macroeconomics my junior year of highschool, I remembered the formula for GDP (Gross Domestic Product) using this tune.

On the last day of class we also had a guest speaker! The author of our textbook presented a speech about economics and game theory and even autographed our textbooks. Our class (much to the dismane of our professor) informed him about typos and mistakes in his textbook. It was a really great ending to my first year at Duke East!
